It's been quiet this week. I am finishing up two projects. And I'm preparing the live session. I want it to be a misture of tape manipulation and a presentation of new material. In Nijmegen and Amsterdam the session will be some 20-25 minutes and I am setting up a score for it. What I want to avoid is that the music will just be a blast of noisewith a lot of incidents happening. Just like with my studio work I want to work with a defined structure in a live situation.

U S E F U L
HARDWARE
Center of my studio is my computer. Hooked to that was for 11 years an Event Echo Gina card (first generation). In 2008 Echo Audiofire4 entered the lab. This is connected to a medium end Sony amplifier and two Spirit Absolute2 monitor speakers.
I use a nice Yamaha keyboard for midi input, all of the sounds are produced with software samplers and synths.
For outdoors recording I use a laptop with a small Edirol soundcard. As a microphone I have an OKM Classic II binaural microphone. This allows me to do digital binaural recordings at 24bit depth with an Edirol R-09. Studio-wise I also use Marshall MXL and Rode NT2a condenser mics. Late 2006 I started using MIDI. I have bought myself a Behringer BCR2000 MIDI controller to be able to do more in a live situation.

UNWIRED
There is nothing really fancy in my laboratory. Most valuable stuff that I always carry with me are my EARS and then there is my BRAIN. Next are my eyes which I use to read about other music, thoughts of other people on music and such Read more at EARLabs.org.
SOFTWARE
Reaper is my central organisational and productional tool. This software is recommended above a lot of other stuff that I have used in the past.
I use Adobe Audition 2.0 as a wave editor. Next there is Audiomulch which is my favourite live instrument. It is versatile and allows me to construct wonderful sounds in the studio (which are then arranged in Reaper) and gives enough live feel when on stage. Of course Audiomulch hosts VST and I am an avid user of this stuff. What I use is a lot of material of smartelectronix, all of the PV software. Recently I have cleaned out my collection and currently use only state of the art stuff.
